How it works

How it works

From the documents you share to records you approve.

The five steps

Every job follows the same path, whichever service you choose.

  1. Step 1: Share documents

Send your SKU list with the certificates and test reports you have: upload them to your order in the client portal, or attach them to an email.

    You
  2. Step 2: Software-assisted extraction and human checks

Software drafts a first extraction from your documents. A reviewer then checks every value against its source page, records the document and page, and sets the SKU’s status.

  3. Step 3: Resolve gaps

Each gap gets a finding and a next action. Missing or out-of-date documents are requested from suppliers and labs only on your instruction. Decisions only the certifier can make are marked “Needs you”.

  4. Step 4: Client review and approval

You review each prepared record and approve it, or ask for a correction. Your approval is your decision as certifier: it is not a government approval or a filing.

    You
  5. Step 5: Prepared deliverables

Versioned files are delivered to your portal order or by email. You, your team or your customs broker then enters and files the data.

Who does what

We prepare and check. You decide, approve and file.

eFiling Ready prepares

  • Reads your certificates and test reports
  • Checks every field against its source page
  • Flags gaps and, on your instruction, asks suppliers for documents
  • Prepares your Registry file and broker sheet

You and your broker decide and file

  • You certify and approve each record
  • You or your team enter data in the CPSC Product Registry
  • Your customs broker files the entry with CBP

Supplier outreach

We contact your suppliers and labs only when you instruct us to, and only for the documents the review needs. We write in English or Chinese. Supplier and lab follow-up is part of the Certificate Preflight; it is not included in a Quick Check.

Time spent waiting for replies from suppliers or labs is not counted in the turnaround.

Software and review

Software is used to draft the first extraction from your documents. Its output is a draft until a reviewer has checked every value against the page it came from; the source is then recorded in the audit trail. Where documents disagree, we flag the difference rather than choose one, and we never fill a gap with a guess.

Using the client portal

  • Create a client account at portal.efilingready.com with your company name, your name, your work email and a password of at least 10 characters, and accept the service terms.
  • Choose a service and the number of SKUs. The order form shows the published price and an estimate; our team confirms the final quote before work starts.
  • Upload your documents to the order: PDF, XLSX, XLS, CSV, DOCX, JPG, PNG or ZIP, up to 50 MB per file and 20 files (500 MB) per upload.
  • Talk to us in the order thread. Each order has its own messages, status and timeline. We reply within one business day.
  • Receive your invoice in the portal; payment instructions are sent by email. The portal does not take online payments.
  • View or download your deliverables in the portal. Files on the order are deleted 90 days after delivery unless you ask us to keep them longer.

Prefer email? Write to [email protected] with your SKU count and product types. We can work by email throughout.

Service boundary

We prepare and review certificate data. We do not file with CPSC or U.S. Customs and Border Protection, assign HTS codes or classify goods, test or certify products, or give legal advice. When a question needs a lawyer, a lab or your broker, we tell you so.

Prepared data is not a filing or a guarantee of clearance.
